The Koles
A short book of rhyme, adventure, and inspiration.
An invisible collection of beings, called the Koles, operate in this world as sounds. They are the vibrations that travel through the air or another medium and can be heard upon reaching the ear. The story revolves around one young new Kole named Labe that hasn’t absorbed a sound yet. He is apprehensive to do so for fear of occupying a sound he would later regret. Labe goes on an adventure with other Koles who help find the idyllic sound. They encounter other helpful buddies, hurtful bullies, and hilarious buffoons. Ultimately, by meeting someone with similar fears, we, along with Labe, learn that sounds touch not only the ears but also the heart.
Hearing is an act of the ear. Listening is an act of the heart.
